Leeds United continue to be linked with Ibai Gomez.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Alaves are planning to keep Ibai Gomez out of Leeds United’s clutches by attempting to bring Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente back to the club.
Gomez, 29, has hit three goals and two assists this season in 12 La Liga appearances, and Alaves are now worried about him leaving the club in 2019.
The winger is out of contract at the end of the season, meaning he could leave for free at the end of the season or pen a pre-contract agreement in January, leaving Alaves to consider selling him.
AS report that Leeds United remain in the race to sign Gomez, but Alaves now have a stunning plan to try and keep the wide man, as they will attempt to reunite him with Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente.
Llorente, 23, spent the 2016-17 season on loan at Alaves and became close with Gomez during their time at the club, and Alaves now want to launch an ambitious bid to reunite the pair and convince Gomez to snub leeds and a host of Spanish clubs in order to stay.

An undoubtedly talented midfielder, Llorente is hitting the same problems many young players face at Real Madrid; a lack of playing time. With just one substitute appearance in all competitions this term, Llorente is being wasted at Real, and may well fancy a return to Alaves in order to play.
Gomez played under Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa at Athletic Bilbao and is a favourite of the Argentinian, meaning the Whites won’t be easy to shrug off, but this ambitious plan may just help keep Gomez out of Leeds’ clutches – and if it fails, may take him closer to Elland Road in a do-or-die situation.
