According to Foot Mercato, the agent of Alassane Plea is working on a transfer after links with a move to Arsenal.

It’s claimed that the Borussia Monchengladbach attacker is intending to leave this summer, and his agent is now working on an exit route.

A move to England is thought to be possible, despite the fact that Plea only managed 12 goals and five assists in all competitions this past season, oddly faring much better in the Champions League than the Bundesliga.

So where could Plea be off to?

Well, the Daily Mail claimed in April that Arsenal are looking to sign Plea this summer, though do face competition from Manchester United.

The 28-year-old could be seen as a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette, who may be sold this summer given that he has just a year left on his contract.

Plea has a small link to Arsenal, as he wears number 14 because of his love for compatriot and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

Marco Rose praised Plea as ‘exceptional’ in March whilst admitting he was enduring a difficult period, but Rose is off to Borussia Dortmund, meaning Plea’s biggest backer won’t be with Gladbach anymore.

With two years left on his deal, this seems like the right time for Plea to move on – and with his agent working on a move, Arsenal will be on red alert.
