Alan Pardew looks to be the overwhelming favourite to get the West Bromwich Albion job.

The Sun reports that Pardew could be unveiled within the next 24 hours as the Baggies’ new boss and may attend their clash with Newcastle United on Tuesday night – though caretaker boss Gary Megson is set to take charge of the team.

The appointment is likely to be confirmed at some stage after the game, according to The Sun, and part of the deal that will see him arrive at the club could include a clause that sees him net a £1 million bonus if he keeps the side in the top flight.
West Brom are certainly in a precarious position right now, with the side just one place and one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

And with no wins since August in any competition, Pardew will surely have to capitalise on the confidence that was gained in the weekend draw with Tottenham at Wembley if he wants to take them away from danger as quickly as possible.
But having previously led Palace to safety after arriving midway through the season, it would certainly be no surprise if Pardew was able to keep the Baggies up this term and bag the reported bonus that is set to be in his contract.
