According to the Dutch version of ESPN, Ajax are readying an offer for Palmerias’ Danilo ahead of the January transfer window.

The Dutch giants have plenty of cash after selling Antony and Lisandro Martinez to Manchester United in the summer, and they’re, once again, on the hunt for the next great South American wonderkid.

However, unfortunately for Ajax, they’re not the only club keen on the ‘dynamic’ midfielder.

Indeed, this report also states that Arsenal are preparing an offer of their own, while AS Moncao are admiring Danilo too.

So, where will the midfielder end up?

Well, Arsenal are arguably the most appealing destination at the moment. The Gunners top the Premier League right now, and are probably the team offering the most wages.

However, in terms of career progression, Ajax and Monaco may be the teams that most appeal to Danilo.

Indeed, let’s not forget, Ajax and Monaco have been the proving ground of some of the most promising players in world football in recent years, and Danilo may want that soft landing upon arriving in Europe.

As a young midfielder, heading to Ajax is perfect if you want to develop. The Dutch giants have always been keen to hand out chances to young players, and they’re a club with a clear philosophy around playing football the right way.

The same can be said of Monaco, the likes of Fabinho, Bernardo Silva and Aurelien Tchouameni all got their big breaks at the Ligue 1 club in recent years, so perhaps that’s the best place for Danilo to go and showcase his talents.

This is certainly a player to keep an eye on as the January transfer window approaches.
