Aiden McGeady and James Vaughan are closing in on moves to Sunderland.
According to Sky Sports, Everton winger Aiden McGeady is on Wearside in order to undergo a medical with Sunderland this afternoon – and Bury striker James Vaughan is also close to joining.
The Black Cats have already tied up deals for two Everton players having signed Brendan Galloway and Tyias Browning on loan for the season, and another fringe player at Goodison Park is set to join.

Winger McGeady, 31, has been one of new manager Simon Grayson’s top targets this summer having enjoyed a superb spell together at Preston last season, where McGeady hit eight goals and nine assists.
The Irish international is now closing in on a reunion with Grayson, as Sky Sports report that the wide man is on Wearside today in order to complete his permanent move to Sunderland.
With no future at Everton having been frozen out by Ronald Koeman, McGeady will now get a fresh start with Sunderland, and it looks to be the perfect fit as he prepares to work under Grayson again.
The report also notes that another player with ties to Everton – former Toffees striker James Vaughan – is also in the North East today in order to put the finishing touches on his move to the Stadium of Light.
Bury’s James Vaughan scores
The Bury hitman hit 24 goals in 40 goals last season, and having worked with Grayson at Huddersfield Town in 2012, the 28-year-old striker is also set for a reunion with the Sunderland boss.
A deal of £900,000 has allegedly been agreed for Vaughan, and having lost Jermain Defoe to Bournemouth, he will be relied upon for goals in the Championship in the upcoming season.
