According to the Daily Mail, agents of Tottenham Hotspur players are seeking more money due to the extra exposure the club’s Amazon Prime deal brings.

Spurs are enduring a difficult start to the season, and will be hoping that November proves to be the real turning point for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

Notable nightmare results have been the home defeat to Newcastle United, the Carabao Cup exit to Colchester United, the 7-2 home thrashing at the hands of Bayern Munich and the 3-0 loss at Brighton and Hove Albion, so the club’s recent Amazon announcement has been a shock.

Spurs have signed a deal with Amazon Prime to allow the cameras to shoot this season’s action, meaning that unless results turn soon, fans will get to see right inside a disappointing campaign.

There may be another issue yet though, as it’s now believed that agents are seeking more money for their Spurs players because of their involvement in the documentary series.

One source suggested that if players are doing additional interviews, then they should be paid for it, with agents looking through contracts to see if they have any case to demand more money from Tottenham.

However, there’s an acknowledgement that Tottenham’s contracts under Daniel Levy are watertight, and Spurs are in ‘no doubt’ that there’s no case for extra money.

Levy appears to have been prepared for his instance, as you would expect he would be, but it’s another less-than-ideal situation emerging if the reports are true.
