Roma are already lining up a deal to sign Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac during the January transfer window, according to Corriere dello Sport.

If Kieran Tierney stays fit between now and the New Year, the barrel-chested Bosnian international will have to get used to life on the bench for the next ten weeks or so.

Kolasinac has featured in just one of Arsenal’s first four Premier League games in 2020/21 so far and was even left out of the match-day squad altogether during the 2-1 triumph over Sheffield United last time out.

If it wasn’t for a last-gasp hitch, the former Schalke flyer would be back in the Bundesliga by now anyway.

BILD report that Kolasinac, valued at £9 million by Arsenal, was set to join Bayer Leverkusen on deadline day last week; only for his £100,000-a-week wages to scupper the deal.

Roma were interested over the summer too.

And, according to reports in Italy, the Serie A giants could come to his rescue when the winter window swings open in just two-and-a-half months.

Roma are, after all, desperate for reinforcements on the left after Aleksandar Kolarov became the latest grizzled veteran in Inter Milan’s stable of warhorses.

Apparently, an unnamed agent has even offered Kolasinac to Roma in the last few days with the increasingly out-of-favour defender now firmly second choice in Arteta’s pecking order. Third, perhaps, if you count Bukayo Saka as a genuine option at left-back.
