According to Bild, Bayern Munich defender David Alaba could end up at Barcelona is Joan Laporta is elected as their new president.
Agent Pini Zahavi is the key here; it’s stated that he has strong ties to Laporta, and that could facilitate a move to the Camp Nou.
Zahavi isn’t too popular at Barcelona as he facilitated Neymar’s world-record move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, but his relationship with Laporte could solve the issue.
Where else could Alaba go?
The Austrian, who is out of contract at the end of the season and is likely to be one of the most in-demand free agents having rejected Bayern’s offer to stay.
He fancies a move to Spain, with Barca and Real Madrid both in contention, but both are struggling financially.
Zahavi has two other clubs on his list to target; Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, believing these four clubs offer the best chance at a big-money contract.

What about Liverpool?
Liverpool were recently linked with a deal for Alaba, with AS claiming in November that the Reds were keen on a bargain move.
Fans will notice that Liverpool aren’t in the list of clubs Zahavi is now targeting, and that may not be a huge surprise.
Zahavi and Alaba seem to be targeting a big pay day, and Liverpool don’t really pay up for established stars, especially those approaching 29.
Yes, Liverpool did secure Alaba’s former Bayern teammate Thiago, but handing Alaba a huge contract and signing-on fee just doesn’t seem likely, and Zahavi may now realise that with his new list of clubs.
