According to Il Messaggero, West Ham United remain interested in signing Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha – and could throw Fabian Balbuena into a deal.
Calciomercato reported earlier this month that West Ham had asked about Strakosha, but the move didn’t seem to go any further.
Now though, Strakosha’s name is again being mentioned in conjunction with West Ham, this time with a possible part-exchange deal in mind.
Lazio need a centre back, and West Ham would allegedly be willing to throw Balbuena into a deal.
Agent Federico Pastorello is claimed to be working on a deal, with not much time to go until next week’s transfer deadline.
It seems almost bizarre that West Ham are in the market for a new goalkeeper; Lukasz Fabianski was superb against Crystal Palace tonight and Darre Randolph is also in the ranks.

Strakosha is a talented goalkeeper who may just need a fresh start having struggled for starts this season, but a move to West Ham seems odd.
Add in that Paraguayan centre back Balbuena was on the West Ham bench at Palace tonight, and it seems unlikely that he will be moving on any time soon – but the Italian media seem convinced that it’s a discussion being had.
