According to Calciomercato, Inter Milan are now working to offload Alexis Sanchez in January, months after West Ham expressed interest in him.
What’s the story?
Well, back in June, Estadio Deportivo revealed that West Ham were keen on signing the 139-cap Chile international.
Of course, no return to the Premier League materialised for the 32-year-old.
Now, Calciomercato believe Inter Milan are already plotting how to get rid of the South American, as his €7.5m-a-year (£123,076-a-week) wages are too high.
In hindsight, Sanchez probably should’ve tried to force the move to West Ham, as he’s now suffering on the sidelines.
The ex-Arsenal man has played just 52 minutes in Serie A so far this season, while making four appearances in all competitions.
It’s clear that Simone Inzaghi doesn’t like Sanchez as much as Antonio Conte did, as the Inter Milan No.7 actually enjoyed a good season in 2020/21.
Sanchez scored seven goals and provided eight assists in 38 appearances.
Should West Ham try again for Alexis Sanchez?

In our view, this wouldn’t be the worst business in the world, only if West Ham fail to properly replace Sebastien Haller in January.
Michail Antonio desperately needs a deputy, and Sanchez is a man who knows the Premier League very well.
In 153 Premier League appearances, the Chilean scored 63 goals and provided 31 assists.

Additionally, with Inter Milan desperate to offload him, the Italian giants could be willing to strike a cheap deal with West Ham.
After all, Sanchez will only have one year left on his contract in June 2022, so perhaps a January sale would be best for Inter Milan.
In our view, West Ham could do worse things than offer him a one-year contract, just in case something happens to Antonio.
