Liverpool could now be beaten to Kai Havertz by Chelsea, according to the Daily Mail.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with Havertz over a number of months now, with the Daily Express suggesting Jurgen Klopp was ‘desperate’ to land the German forward back in February.
Liverpool would have to pay big money to land the forward, which could prove problematic for them this summer.
The Reds are operating on a limited budget, and Chelsea have already taken advantage of that.
Frank Lampard’s side have swooped to land Timo Werner ahead of Liverpool, with the RB Leipzig forward set to move to Stamford Bridge according to Sky Sports.
And it seems that history could repeat itself quickly in the near future.
Chelsea are seemingly prepared to spend big this summer, with Havertz apparently on their radar.
If Chelsea do land Havertz then some Liverpool’s fans frustrations will surely rise even further.
The Reds have dominated this season, but there are suggestions that their squad will need to be freshened up this summer, if they are to continue to stay at the top.
