According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Fulham are close to signing Sasa Lukic from Torino.

The midfielder, who is a teammate of Aleksandar Mitrovic at international level, has been linked to Leeds and West Ham recently.

Leeds reportedly held talks with the Serbian last month, but it seems as though he’s now set for a move to Craven Cottage.

Fulham are in desperate need of midfield depth, especially after being forced to register Josh Onomah, who trained on his own in pre-season and wasn’t a part of Marco Silva’s initial plans.

Lukic would likely arrive as an understudy to Harrison Reed, and his arrival could solve Fulham’s ongoing issues with penalties. Lukic has scored four penalties and missed none in his career, meaning that he could replace Aleksandar Mitrovic as the team’s designated taker.

The 26-year-old has made 150 appearances for Torino in Italy’s Serie A, and has also represented his country at the World Cup. He is known for his tireless work rate and ability to control the tempo of the game, which would be a valuable asset for Silva’s side.

In addition to Lukic, Fulham are also reportedly interested in signing right-back Cedric Soares. This move would make sense as the Whites desperately need depth at right-back after Kevin Mbabu fell out of favour, and Soares’ experience at this level would make him a welcome addition.

Described as ‘excellent’ in the past, Lukic brings a wealth of top-level experience to this midfield, which is exactly what the club needs as they push for a European spot.

Fulham have been the surprise package of the Premier League so far, and they’ll be hoping that the addition of Lukic gives them the extra dynamic needed to kick on and make this campaign one to remember.
