Leeds United are hoping to tie up a deal for Robin Koch in the next week, the Yorkshire Evening Post report.
Rodrigo is set to join Leeds from Valencia in the very near future, and youngster Sam Greenwood is also close to moving to Elland Road.
After those moves are done, it seems that Leeds will turn their attentions to getting a move for Koch secured.
The Freiburg centre-back has become Leeds top target at the back, after a deal for Ben White became impossible.
Leeds have realised the need to add a centre-back, as Marcelo Bielsa’s current options in the position look limited.
Koch will surely start on opening day if he does join Leeds, alongside Liam Cooper, especially if he does arrive in the near future.

Bielsa likes his players to have time to adjust to his system and often shows great patience before putting new signings into his starting line-up.
However, necessity may dictate that Koch has to feature straight away at Elland Road.
That is why it is essential that Leeds get a deal wrapped up swiftly, as they will surely want to give Koch as long as possible to bed in with his teammates before the new season starts.
Leeds Live have suggested that Leeds will have to pay £20 million for Koch, who could be an excellent addition to their squad for their first season back in the top flight.
