According to Gazzetta dello Sport, it is seemingly inevitable that Antonio Conte leaves Inter Milan, after he held positive talks with Tottenham.

The Italian news outlet claim that the 51-year-old could even leave the San Siro within 48 hours, as Inter Milan’s financial situation worsens.

It is said that there may not even be another meeting between Conte and the club’s owner, Steven Zhang.

If there is, Gazzetta dello Sport write it would only be to shake hands and say goodbye.

Conte has just won Inter Milan their first Serie A title in 11 years, so you might be wondering why he’s leaving.

Well, as Gazzetta dello Sport state, the club’s financial situation means they have to sell players, and are highly unlikely to be adding anyone to the squad.

As a result, tensions have risen high between Conte and Zhang, as the ex-Chelsea boss believes he can not carry out his work effectively amid the current restraints.

Interestingly, this news comes just a couple of weeks after Corriere dello Sport revealed that Conte had met with Tottenham to talk about replacing José Mourinho.

The Italian news outlet wrote that talks went well, and Conte even discussed which areas of Tottenham’s squad need strengthening.

If Conte really is leaving Inter Milan, Daniel Levy cannot twiddle his thumbs and wait around – he has to hire him.

The former Juventus boss is arguably the best option out there, having won an eye-catching 306 games throughout his managerial career.

Conte also has Premier League experience, and knows how to secure silverware.

As Transfermarkt shows, the ex-Italy boss has lifted nine trophies throughout his managerial career.

Keep an eye on Conte’s future, as it looks like he might just be about to become unemployed.
