Rangers outcast Barrie McKay is reportedly wanted by Cardiff City.
According to The Scottish Sun, Cardiff City are interested in snapping up Rangers winger Barrie McKay, with something of a bidding war in the offing with Nottingham Forest.
McKay, 22, had struggled to make an impact with Rangers following a 2011 switch from Kilmarnock, but he finally flourished at Ibrox following Mark Warburton’s appointment as manager in 2015.

The winger notched nine goals in all competitions during the 2015/16 season, playing a starring role under Warburton before a disappointing season last term, notching just six goals.
Now, McKay is set to leave Ibrox having become an outcast under manager Pedro Caixinha. With just a year left on his contract, the Scot has so far failed to agree new terms, and Rangers look set to sell him on whilst they still can this summer.
Having been sent to train with Rangers’ Under-20’s until he finds a new club, Rangers are seemingly hoping to move McKay on as quickly as possible, and The Scottish Sun report that Cardiff City are now interested in a deal.
Cardiff missed out on Jonny Hayes as the Irish winger joined Celtic last month, but it’s now claimed that Neil Warnock’s men are plotting to sign McKay instead as they continue to shop in Scotland.
Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton
Nottingham Forest – managed by former Gers boss Warburton – are understood to have made a tentative offer for McKay, but that came nowhere near Rangers’ £750,000 asking price.
That has allowed Cardiff to enter the race, and Rangers will now be hoping that the two Championship clubs now engage in a bidding war for McKay this summer.
