New Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino may not have considered Denis Zakaria good enough for his team, but it seems that West Ham United boss David Moyes rates him highly.

According to Tuttosport, West Ham United are on the verge of signing former Chelsea loanee Denis Zakaria from Juventus in the summer transfer window.

The report in the Italian publication has claimed that West Ham could complete the signing of the defensive midfielder on Monday.

The Hammers will pay Italian giants Juventus €20 million (£17 million) in transfer fees for the Switzerland international.

This follows Chelsea’s decision not to trigger the option in Zakaria’s loan deal to make it permanent.

Zakaria spent the 2022-23 season on loan at the Blues from Juventus.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on May 30 that new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino personally decided not to include the 26-year-old in his plans.

Could former Chelsea loanee Denis Zakaria succeed at West Ham United?

In our opinion, just because Denis Zakaria struggled at Chelsea last season does not mean that he will not succeed at West Ham United.

Chelsea were a mess last season, and not many players could really do well.

That Juventus signed Zakaria in the first place shows how good he is.

And he will reportedly cost West Ham just £17 million in transfer fees.

That is not really a huge amount of money.
