According to AS, Diego Simeone now wants to bring Jose Campana to Atlético Madrid, after Leeds submitted a bid in 2021.
What’s the story?
Well, the Spain international – who Crystal Palace sold in 2014 – is a man in demand.
After Michael Cuisance failed a medical at Elland Road, Leeds submitted a £13.7 million bid for Campana, according to Super Deporte.
It was rejected, and Victor Orta’s pursuit of the 28-year-old went quiet.
Now, however, it will be interesting to see if Leeds respond after hearing that Atlético Madrid – one of the best sides in Europe – want Campana.
So far this season, the Sevilla-born maestro has scored two goals in 14 La Liga appearances.
Leeds have a great chance to sign the Crystal Palace reject

In our view, Leeds could easily sign Campana if they chose to reignite their interest.
Last year, Levante wanted too much money from the Whites – AS believe they were charging €30m (£25m) for their No.24.
However, AS add that Campana has a relegation clause in his contract, which states he has to leave on loan with a view to a permanent move.
As things stand, Levante are rock bottom of La Liga, eight points from safety, so it looks very likely they’ll be relegated.

Should they suffer the drop, it would provide a fantastic opportunity for Leeds.
Jesse Marsch would be able to take a look at Campana during the loan, before deciding if he wants to turn the move into a permanent one.
The only issue is Atlético Madrid and Simeone, who should be able to offer Campana the chance to play Champions League football.
Keep an eye on this saga, as anything could happen.
