According to Lequipe, Nottingham Forest have had a 5m (£4.2m) bid accepted for Hwang Ui-Jo.

The Bordeaux forward is attracting the attention of a number of Premier League clubs this week, with Fulham and Wolves both credited with an interest, but it sounds as though Forest have now jumped the queue on this one.

Hwang has been brilliant for the French outfit over the past two years, hitting double figures in Ligue 1 last season, but after financial difficulties saw Bordeaux relegated down to the French third-tier, the South Korean is, understandably, set to leave.

Forest could certainly do with a new striker. After all, Taiwo Awoniyi, Brennan Johnson and Lyle Taylor are their only options at the moment.

This is certainly an area of the park that Forest are keen to strengthen. As well as Hwang, the Tricky Trees have reportedly also had a bid accepted for Watford’s Emmanuel Dennis.

Whether or not Forest sign both players remains to be seen, but if they do, they will have plenty of depth going forward.

It’s not all that surprising to see Forest move for Hwang. With links to the likes of Houssem AouarMoses Simon and Bamba Dieng in recent days, it’s clear that the French market is one that the club are keen to explore, and Hwang represents one of the biggest bargains in that country at the moment.

With Wolves and Fulham both keen, this one is far from a done deal just yet, but everything seems to be moving in the right direction on this one.

Forest may well have a brand new strikeforce in place come the end of this transfer window.
