Nottingham Forest were one of the busiest teams in the summer transfer window, and, somehow, they’re not slowing down in January.
The Tricky Trees have already signed Danilo and Gustavo Scarpa, and they’re also apparently looking at a loan deal for Chris Wood from Newcastle United.
However, interestingly, Wood isn’t the only Newcastle player the Reds are looking at.
Indeed, according to The Telegraph, Forest are now also interested in Jamaal Lascelles.
Hearing that Forest are keen on Lascelles isn’t all that surprising. After all, the centre-half is a product of the Reds’ academy and they could probably do with more quality at the back.

With Moussa Niakhate and Cheikhou Kouyate both injured, Forest, somehow, don’t have too much depth at centre-back and signing a player like Lascelles who has buckets of Premier League experience and leadership abilities could be just what Forest need to keep them in the Premier League.
Of course, the fact that Lascelles is an academy product helps too. He knows exactly what it means to represent this historic club and he should be a brilliant addition to the dressing room as well as a reliable defender on the pitch.
One has to imagine that a deal to land Lascelles won’t be too difficult to do this month. He’s firmly out of favour at Newcastle – having played in just four league games for the Magpies this season, and the Tyneside club do need to start about trimming the fat in their squad if they’re going to continue to spend big in the coming transfer windows.
Nottingham Forest have already completed something of a spending spree in Brazil when signing Scarpa and Danilo, and now it looks like they could be set to raid Newcastle for both Wood and Lascelles.
