According to the Daily Mail, Marcelo Bielsa has reportedly turned down the opportunity to replace Frank Lampard at Everton.
Bielsa had been strongly linked to the club in recent weeks, with reports suggesting that he had held talks with the Toffees on a number of occasions.
However, it seems that Bielsa is not ready to take on a new job at this moment, and would rather wait until the summer when he can have a full pre-season to prepare his team – indicating that he would take on the Everton job at that point.
Bielsa has previously worked in the Premier League with Leeds United, where he led the team to a top-half finish in the 2020/21 season. He is highly respected in the game for his innovative and unorthodox approach to coaching, and his teams are known for their high-energy, pressing style of play – a style that Everton fans would love.
With Bielsa out of the running, the focus now turns to other candidates, and according to the Mail, the new favourite is Sean Dyche.

Dyche has a proven track record of success in the Premier League, having kept Burnley up on a shoestring budget on a number of occasions.
While Dyche’s style of play can be quite defensive and unattractive, it is effective. He is known for his ability to organize and motivate his teams, and he would likely be able to help Everton pull out of the relegation battle they currently find themselves in.
However, the ex-Burnley boss is said to be looking for a long-term contract, which could prove to be a sticking point for Everton. The Toffees are currently in a difficult position and need a coach who can come in and quickly turn things around. Dyche may not be the most exciting choice, but he could be the right one for the job.
Everton need to act fast if they want to get out of this relegation battle. The January transfer window is coming to a close and they need to find a coach who can help them find new recruits as soon as possible.
While Bielsa may have been a dream candidate for many Everton fans, it seems that they will have to look elsewhere for their saviour, and that man may well be Dyche.
