Premier League newcomers Wolverhampton Wanderers paid £18m to sign Adama Traore from Championship outfit Middlesbrough last summer.
Adama Traore is not part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s long-term plans after a difficult debut season at Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to TEAMtalk.
Wolves made the former Barcelona youngster their record signing last summer when they triggered the £18 million release clause in his Middlesbrough contract, as reported by the BBC.
And Traore enjoyed an impressive start to life in the Black Country, scoring a dramatic, last gasp winner away at West Ham in only his third appearance for the Premier League newcomers.
But the 23-year-old has struggled to build on his London Stadium heroics. That remains Traore’s only top flight goal in Wolves colours while he has been trusted to start just eight league games by Nuno.
A lack of end product, a problem which dogged his spells at Aston Villa and Middlesbrough, remains a real concern. And TEAMtalk suggests that Traore could be allowed to leave after just 12 months at Molineux with the jet-heeled winger no longer part of Nuno’s plans going forward.
TEAMtalk also claimed that Middlesbrough wanted to re-sign the forward on loan in January and it remains to be seen if they make another move to rescue him from his Wolves nightmare.
