Watford are set to sign Adam Masina ahead of Everton.

According to Sky Sports, Watford are poised to sign Bologna left back Adam Masina, clinching his signature despite interest from Premier League rivals Everton.
With Marvin Zeegelaar linked with a move away from Vicarage Road, the Hornets have been tracking new left backs to compete with Jose Holebas, and appear to have found one.
Sky Sports claim that Watford are set to snap up Bologna ace Adam Masina, bringing the 24-year-old left back to the Premier League this summer.

The Italian star has impressed in Serie A, and Watford have made him their top target ahead of Hertha Berlin ace Marvin Plattenhardt as Javi Gracia is backed with new faces.
The report also notes that Everton are involved on two counts; the first is that Everton are now pursuing the signature of German left back Plattenhardt, and the second is that they were also pursuing Masina’s signature.
A successor to Leighton Baines has to be a top priority for Everton this summer, and it seems that new director of football Marcel Brands had lined up Masina for a move to Goodison Park.

Whilst Watford appear to have gone with Masina over Plattenhardt, Everton may instead go in the opposite direction and focus their attention on the German, though Masina’s seemingly imminent move to Vicarage Road may be a factor in that.
The relations between the two clubs are strained already after Marco Silva’s move to Everton, and both sides may prefer to stay out of each other’s way in the transfer market this summer.
