Newcastle have been linked with a move for the left-sided flyer.

Italian outlet CalcioMercato claim AC Milan star Diego Laxalt will only be allowed to leave permanently, which means Newcastle United will have to splash out £10.7million to land their man.
The same outlet reported earlier this month that Milan were willing to sell Laxalt, who they value at just under £11million. Now, the 25-year-old will only be allowed to leave the club permanently this month.
Newcastle are set to complete the signing of Jordan Lukaku on a loan-to-buy deal from Italian side Lazio, with Mike Ashley unlikely to part with any major funds before the end of the transfer window.
The chances of signing Laxalt, then, have taken an enormous blow as Newcastle may have preferred to land the 25-year-old on loan due to Ashley’s tight stronghold on the Toon coffers.
Newcastle have been desperate to sign a new left-back this summer, with Lukaku’s move coming after the club had made an offer for AS Monaco’s Antonio Barreca. Paul Dummett’s hamstring woes continue to worry Benitez.

Laxalt was a target for Newcastle in the summer before AC Milan spent a whopping £16million to land the Uruguay international from Genoa, after an impressive World Cup campaign with the South American nation.
But with Milan only willing to sell permanently, it looks as though Newcastle may miss out on the versatile star.
