Italian outlet CMW claim that AC Milan want to sign Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga in the January window but after drawing the Serie A side in the last 16 of the Champions League – Antonio Conte is ready to reject a move.
Tanganga, 23, has been afforded just one senior appearance for Spurs this season. He came on as a substitute in the 2-0 win over Marseille at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the last 20 minutes – in which Richarlison scored a brace.
The England Under-21 ace finds himself way down the pecking order. The £25k-a-week man’s best position, on the right of the three sees him behind Cristian Romero and Davinson Sanchez. Spurs have three right wing-back options.
So, it is unlikely that Tanganga remains at Spurs and even so, a surprise that he remained at Spurs in the summer. Milan are keen with Stefano Pioli looking to add to his defence – but Conte is ready to reject a move because of the draw.

It is a bit unfortunate for Tanganga. A move to Milan would have been an excellent one for the Tottenham star. The chance to fight for Serie A titles alongside another Englishman in Fikayo Tomori. But the last 16 draw ends that hope.
Indeed, it would be a catastrophe for Spurs to sell Tanganga to Milan – and then Tanganga impress up against Son Heung-min in next February’s game. That would be a drama of their own making. Next summer, fine. Not in January.
It might mean that Tanganga has to wait for other interest from other clubs. In the summer, there was links to other Premier League clubs. It might be that the Englishman would prefer to remain in his home country. Time will tell.
