According to Gianluca Di Marzio, AC Milan are targeting three ambitious signings to kick off the Ralf Rangnick era this summer.

Rangnick is set to become Milan’s new boss but also their sporting director, taking on huge power at the San Siro as he prepares for a return to management.

Reports are now emerging about what exactly Rangnick wants to do with Milan – and three targets currently playing in Germany have emerged.

The first isn’t a huge surprise as RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano is allegedly wanted. Rangnick knows him from the Red Bull setup, though Tuttosport recently claimed that Milan fear losing out on Upamecano to Arsenal.

Given Arsenal’s financial restrictions, it’s hard to see them being in a position to afford Upamecano this summer. That, along with Rangnick’s presence, could mean the Gunners actually end up missing out to Milan after all.

Another target is Upamecano’s current Leipzig teammate Patrik Schick. The Czech Republic international hit 10 goals in 26 games for Leipzig this season, having spent the year on loan from Roma.

Schick is returning to Italy as things stand, and could stay there if Roma will sell to Milan. Gazzetta Dello Sport reported just last week that Everton, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur all want the 24-year-old, but Milan could now disappoint them all.

Finally, the report notes that Werder Bremen winger Milot Rashica is also wanted by Milan – unsurprisingly after being linked with Leipzig, so Rangnick will know all about him.

The Kosovo winger has hit 10 goals and six assists this term, and Milan could push for a €30million (£27million) deal – and that may just leave Liverpool frustrated.

Bild reported earlier this year that Liverpool were looking at Rashica, and having missed out on Timo Werner, some fans believe that Rashica will end up being Liverpool’s top target.

If Milan get their way, they can leave Arsenal, Everton, Newcastle, Tottenham and Liverpool to rue missing out on their targets – and that would be some way to start the Rangnick era.
