AC Milan are reportedly plotting a bid to sign Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech on loan for the upcoming season, an attacker Leeds United are also keen on this summer as a replacement for Raphinha.

According to CalcioMercato, the Serie A champions will move to sign the Moroccon superstar next month after already beating Leeds to Club Brugge attacker Charles De Ketelaere, with Milan setting their sights on another Jesse Marsch target before the closure of the window.

Milan are keen to flesh out their attacking options on the wings, with Ziyech now being targeted following the arrival of De Ketelaere, with the Rossoneri seemingly eager to snap up any wide-player Leeds have been linked with this summer to replace Brazilian international Raphinha.

Whilst the Whites have signed Luis Sinisterra and Brenden Aaronson, Leeds believe they need more to fill the void left by Raphinha, and Ziyech would accomplish that and then some, with the 29-year-old Chelsea winger quite the talent despite his inconsistent form in west London.

Hailed as a ‘sensation’ by Tottenham cult hero Rafael van der Vaart, Ziyech has showcased his talents on multiple occasions with Chelsea as well as during his incredible spell at Ajax, and with Leeds interested in signing the winger, the playmaker could be an incredible addition for the Elland Road side.

However, with Milan stepping up their interest in Ziyech, Leeds could struggle to sign the Premier League forward, especially if the Italian giants are able to match the winger’s wages, something Marsch and company could struggle to do even if they were to land the winger on loan.

Leeds should move to new targets as Milan eye Ziyech

Missing out on De Ketelaere was a rough yet inevitable blow for Leeds, and with Ziyech, Marsch risks repeating the same mistake twice given how appealing the Rossoneri would be to the Chelsea outcast, and the Whites should now be moving on to new targets for the final month of the window.

Indeed, replacing Raphinha for good will be a tough task for the Elland Road side, and whilst Ziyech would be a great choice, Milan’s interested in the Moroccon means a deal is unlikely to happen, something Marsch should accept as we head into the last few weeks of the summer market.
