Sheffield Wednesday could have a chance at landing the West Bromwich Albion winger in January.

A report in Monday’s Express & Star should have Sheffield Wednesday’s ears pricked. It claims West Bromwich Albion will consider January loan offers for Oliver Burke, their £15 million winger who’s been restricted to 38 minutes of Championship football this season.
His destination, it adds, could be either a struggling second tier club (*coughs* Sheffield Wednesday), or even League One.
Unlike West Brom, Burke’s position is one in which Wednesday are not exactly blessed with options – something that became particularly evident in the recent absence of both Fernando Forestieri and Marco Matias – while few in blue and white can replicate the 21-year-old’s pace.
And with the Owls’ other primary option, Adam Reach, rumoured to be interesting other clubs ahead of the January window (notably, West Brom’s rivals, Wolves), strengthening there could be a priority for whoever is in charge at Hillsborough.
Given Sheffield Wednesday’s well-documented financial constraints, money may again be tight even in the event of high profile departures. A couple of high quality loans could, therefore, be the best the Owls can hope for.

And having already proved his quality in spells at Nottingham Forest and RB Leipzig before his move to West Brom, Burke would almost certainly fit the bill.
Should the West Brom winger feature on Sheffield Wednesday’s radar?
