The 2018 Sunderland recruit is reportedly wanted back in Scottish football.

The Aberdeen manager, Derek McInnes, wants to complete the signing of Dylan McGeouch from Sunderland by tonight (Friday), according to the Scottish Sun.
The Dons must submit their squad for next week’s Europa League qualification tie at home to the Finnish side, RoPS, by this evening.
But McGeouch could still be registered as Aberdeen’s one wildcard option if a deal for the Sunderland midfielder can be done by Wednesday.
Sunderland looked to have pulled off a coup by landing McGeouch at the end of his Hibernian contract a year ago.
But the 26-year-old struggled in his first season at the Stadium of Light, failing to score and assisting just two goals in his 21 starts for the Mackems.

It had been speculated that McGeough’s contract was due to expire this summer, although the Scot was recently named on the League One side’s retained list and is now thought to have another season left on his deal.
That means Sunderland will be entitled to a fee for McGeouch if another club wishes to sign him before then.

McInnes turned down the chance to leave Aberdeen for Wearside in 2017.
Would Sunderland regret allowing McGeouch to join Aberdeen?
