Commons recently returned to Celtic Park following a spell at Hibernian, and Aberdeen are now being linked with the out-of-favour Bhoys midfielder.
Aberdeen will move for Celtic outcast Kris Commons if Cardiff City meet their asking price for Jonny Hayes, according to the Scottish Sun.
Commons recently returned from an emergency loan spell at Championship side Hibernian, but is out of favour with Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers and has entered the final six months of his Parkhead deal.
Commons has not featured for Celtic under Rodgers
According to the report, Hibernian, whose manager Neil Lennon signed Commons for Celtic, are keen to bring the 33-year-old back to Easter Road.
However, it is claimed that a move to Premiership Aberdeen could tempt the Englishman, although a deal is reportedly dependent on Cardiff doubling their £500,000 offer for Hayes – and keeping the winger is said to be a priority for Dons boss Derek McInnes.
Aberdeen’s Hayes shoots
Commons has scored 89 goals in 227 appearances for Celtic and played his part in five title and three domestic cup wins.
The former Derby County player shares an agent with Lennon, although his alleged £20,000 weekly wage packet could be difficult for either Hibs or Aberdeen to match.
Would the Celtic man be a good signing for Aberdeen?
