The record transfer between two Scottish clubs remains at Celtic captain Scott Brown’s £4.4m move to Parkhead.

The Times have claimed that Aberdeen are expecting the record transfer between two Scottish clubs to be broken if Celtic are to sign Dons centre-back Scott McKenna this summer.

The Daily Record claims Celtic have tabled an offer of £3.5million for the highly-rated centre-back, but that was quickly rejected by Derek McInnes’ side with some outlets claiming the Dons want closer to £10million.

The 21-year-old has also been the subject of bids from English Championship duo Hull City and Swansea City, and now Celtic are hot on the trail of the four-time Scotland international – who has worn the Scotland armband too.

The 6ft 2in centre-back broke onto the scene at Pittodrie last season, making 35 appearances in all competitions and scoring three goals as well as helping McInnes’ side keep 13 clean sheets.
