West Ham United are reportedly in talks to sign Lorient’s Abdul Majeed Waris.

According to Sky Sports, Lorient striker Abdul Majeed Waris has arrived in London for talks over a move to West Ham United ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.
The Hammers may have brought in proven Premier League players like Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta, Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez this summer, but results so far have been hugely disappointing.
Three defeats from three games against Manchester United, Southampton and Newcastle United have piled the pressure on manager Slaven Bilic, who looks set to dip back into the transfer market for reinforcements.

With just two goals scored in three games – both by new signing Hernandez – West Ham may still need more attacking firepower, and a late window deal for a new striker could be on the cards.
Sky Sports report that Lorient forward Abdul Majeed Waris has arrived in London today for talks with West Ham, with Bilic and co looking to fend off a host of other clubs by signing the Ghanaian.
Waris, 25, had spells with the likes of Spartak Moscow, Valenciennes and Trabzonspor before signing for Lorient in 2015, and he has enjoyed a superb stint with the French club.

Waris has hit 20 goals and eight assists in 56 league appearances for Lorient, but he couldn’t prevent his side from suffering relegation to Ligue 2 last season, and it’s something of a surprise that Lorient have managed to keep hold of him for this long.
A speedy forward with versatility to play out wide or up front, Waris could bring something a little different to the West Ham attack, whilst presenting Bilic with another goal threat, should a deal be completed before Thursday’s 11pm deadline.
