Wales have been dealt a set-back with Aaron Ramsey looking set to miss the upcoming World Cup Qualifying fixtures, against Austria and Georgia respectively, according to The Sun.

Ramsey has been out since the opening day of the Premier League season when he picked up a hamstring injury while playing for Arsenal.

According to The Sun, Ramsey’s recovery has stalled and he is unlikely to return before Wales take on Austria and Georgia in early October.

The 25-year-old missed Wales’ last World Cup Qualifier, against Moldova and hasn’t featured for his national team since the memorable Euro 2016 Quarter-Final win over Belgium. Ramsey was suspended for the semi-final loss to eventual winners Portugal.

Wales face a tough test when they return to the international period with a tricky trip to Vienna to face one of the group favourites, Austria.

However, the team will be boosted by a huge support with more than 3,000 away tickets sold for the trip to Vienna and a sell-out at Cardiff City Stadium when they return to face Georgia.

Ramsey’s injury is also a serious concern for Arsenal but The Sun say Arsene Wenger refuses to risk the midfielder until he his 100 percent fit. The 25-year-old did return to light training but reportedly suffered a setback.

Arsene Wenger told BBC Sport, “I don’t think Ramsey will be available before the international break”.

The Gunners have been without the Ramsey since the opening day defeat to Liverpool and it looks like they won’t get him back until after the next international break.
