Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi is heading to Germany as a replacement for the Liverpool-bound Ozan Kabak at Schalke, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.
The transfer merry-go-round is in full swing now. And Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League champions are about to spark an intriguing chain of events by bringing a highly-rated Turkey international to Anfield on deadline day.
According to Sky (Live blog, 10.50am), Liverpool have agreed a deal that will see Kabak join on loan for £2.5 million until the end of the season.
The Reds are expected to include an option-to-buy clause in the contract of the former Stuttgart youngster.
Kabak, despite his obvious talent, has endured a miserable season for a Schalke side who have won just one of their last 35 Bundesliga matches; a run that looks destined to consign them to relegation.
It remains to be seen if he can adapt immediately to life at Liverpool, as footage shows Kabak arriving for a medical.

While Marseille blocked Duje Caleta-Car’s dream move to Anfield after failing to find a replacement, it seems the Kabak deal will not fall down in similar circumstances.
Because TMW are reporting that 2014 World Cup winner Mustafi is heading back to Germany ahead of a reunion with former Arsenal teammate Sead Kolasinac at the Veltins Arena.
Mustafi earns £90,000-a-week (Spotrac). You would imagine that Arsenal will be thrilled to get another high-earner off their wage bill, after finally finding someone willing to take Mesut Ozil off their hands.
