Arsenal target Odsonne Edouard has told Celtic that he wants to leave this summer, according to The Daily Record.

It has been reported that Arsenal and Leicester City are interested in signing Edouard from Celtic in the summer transfer window.

The former Paris Saint-Germain striker has reportedly told the Hoops that he wants to leave this summer.

Edouard cost Celtic £8 million in transfer fees when they signed him on a permanent contract from PSG in 2018, according to The Daily Record.

The striker has been brilliant for the Hoops over the years and has helped them win multiple trophies.

The Frenchman has won the Scottish Premiership thrice and the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup on two occasions each with the Bhoys.

The 23-year-old is not having the best of campaigns, but the striker has still scored 16 goals and provided three assists in 23 Scottish Premiership starts for Celtic this season.

Celtic are likely to ask for much more than the £8 million they spent on the striker, but he would still be a good signing for Arsenal, not just for now, but in the long run as well.

Described as “world class” by his Celtic teammate David Turnbull in The Daily Record in February 2021, the youngster scores goals, holds the ball up well, is a problem for the opposition defenders in and around the penalty area, and is a class player.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has not had a great season, Eddie Nketiah has not always taken his chances, and Alexandre Lacazette is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of next season, so signing a new and young striker such as Edouard would make sense.
