Felipe Anderson is in talks over a move to Porto as West Ham United look to get their £36 million benchwarmer off the wage bill, according to talkSPORT (live blog, 3.10pm).

It seems a long time since the Brazilian was producing performances befitting the most expensive player in West Ham’s history.

Anderson looked set to secure a seat at the right hand of Paulo Di Canio in the pantheon of claret-and-blue greats during a glorious debut season at the London Stadium in 2018/19.

But the former Lazio ace has been a fading shadow of his brilliant best ever since.

The fact Anderson is finding game time easier to come by in the EFL Cup rather than the Premier League this season sums up his dramatic fall from grace.

One of West Ham’s highest earners on £85,000 a week (Spotrac), Neymar’s former Santos sparring partner has played just two minutes in the top flight all season and was left on the bench during Sunday’s 3-0 win at Leicester City.

talkSPORT reports David Moyes, who has been reluctant to indulge Anderson’s mercurial talents since replacing Manuel Pellegrini last year, would be happy to see the South American go.

Reigning Portuguese champions Porto are in talks.

Meanwhile, the Guardian (live blog, 3.37pm) reports Tottenham Hotspur misfit Danny Rose could also be heading to the Estadio do Dragao as a replacment for Manchester United-bound Alex Telles.
