According to Alfredo Pedulla, Érik Lamela will leave Tottenham this summer after coming to a decision with his wife.
The £80,000-a-week forward and his wife have decided that they want to return to Italy.
Pedulla adds that Lamela wants to try a new experience, and would prefer to join a leading club in Serie A.
As quoted by Area Napoli, Pedulla said: “The Argentine and his wife have the same desire: to return to Italy. Lamela, in all likelihood, at the end of the current football season, will leave Tottenham to try a new experience. Naturally, the player would be oriented to joining an important club.”
It will be a shame to see Lamela go, as he’s been in north London for nearly eights years following his £25.7 million move from Roma in August 2013.
However, in this moment of time, he is far from a key player at Hotspur Way.

Lamela has made just five Premier League starts this season, scoring one goal.
Despite his lack of first-team action, he still found a way to please José Mourinho.
The 58-year-old described him as an ‘amazing guy’ and a ‘fantastic player’ following his cameo against Chelsea in February 2020.

The Independent quote him as saying: “That’s Lamela. Amazing guy, fantastic player and trying to help the team.”
Lamela was the last man standing from Tottenham’s famous seven signings following the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid.
Roberto Soldado, Paulinho, Christian Eriksen, Nacer Chadli, Vlad Chiricheș and Etienne Capoue have all left, and the Argentine now looks set to join them.
