Arsenal misfit Lucas Torreira is unhappy on loan at Atletico Madrid and could move to Torino instead during the January transfer window, according to Tuttosport.
If the £26 million Uruguay international was hoping to replace Thomas Partey in Diego Simeone’s starting XI when both players swapped clubs on the final day of the summer transfer window, it is fair to say things haven’t gone to plan.
Simeone has praised Torreira’s impact in the Spanish capital, particularly after his crucial goal in a recent win over Osasuna.
But it is difficult to overlook the fact that the dynamic little midfielder has started just two La Liga games for Atletico, while playing a grand total of 31 minutes across three Champions League group-stage matches.
Considering Torreira opted to leave Arsenal in search of more regular first-team football, no wonder he is, in the words of Tuttosport, feeling rather ‘dissatisfied’.
The report adds that Serie A outfit Torino, who tried to sign the £75k-a-week Torreira over the summer, will make a new approach in January.

Tuttosport believe that the former Sampdoria scrapper could ask to cut ties with Atletico and leave the Emirates on a permanent basis.
After all, his desire to take in a second spell in Italy is no secret.
“I will have to talk to Arsenal. The player would like to return to Italy,” his agent, Pablo Bentancur, told TMW recently.
To make matters even worse for Torreira, Atletico were given permission by La Liga to sign Geoffrey Kondogbia from Valencia outside the transfer window last week.
The tigerish South American looks likely to find game-time even harder to come by under Simeone between now and the New Year.
