According to Sky Sports, Real Sociedad have spoken to Manchester United about a move for Jesse Lingard, who has been linked with Celtic and Rangers recently.
The England international is yet to make an appearance for the Red Devils this term in either the Premier League or the Europa League.
TEAMtalk revealed that Celtic and Rangers are looking into the possibility of taking Lingard to Glasgow, although they face a real challenge if Real Sociedad are also keen.
Why? Well, the Spanish outfit are currently flying under Imanol Alguacil. The Basque side – who signed David Silva over the summer – sit second in La Liga and also drew praise from ex-Rangers man Gennaro Gattuso in October.
Show Sport quote the Napoli boss as saying: ‘They have a team with a strong character, they know how to play and how to fight. They have a lot of Interesting young players. Again, Napoli will need to play great’.

While Lingard – who earns £75,000-a-week – would arrive at either Celtic, Rangers or Real Sociedad with plenty of pedigree, he has work to do to rediscover his best form.
As aforesaid, he hasn’t played a single minute in the Premier League or Champions League this season.

Additionally, he only scored four goals in 40 appearances last term.
However, if Steven Gerrard or Neil Lennon can help Lingard rediscover the form that saw him register 20 goal involvements in 48 games back in the 2017/18 campaign, they’ll have some player on their hands.
