According to Marca, Lucas Vázquez is now listening to offers after a meeting with Real Madrid, amid interest from Leeds and Everton.
The 9-cap Spain international finds himself out of contract in June, with both Carlo Ancelotti and Marcelo Bielsa lurking.
It was Defensa Central who said Everton were keen, as Ancelotti feels he can convince James Rodríguez to stay if he signs Vázquez.
Then, a separate report from Defensa Central said Bielsa has asked Leeds to bring him to Elland Road.
As aforesaid, the 29-year-old is now listening to offers, after his agent met with Real Madrid’s Chief Executive, José Ángel Sánchez.
The discussion was about a new contract, although Marca say both parties left without an agreement in place, making it an unsuccessful chat.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Vázquez has still been a key player for Zinedine Zidane this season.
He has made 30 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals while assisting seven more.
Vázquez is naturally a forward.
However, he has done Zidane a huge favour by also filling in at right-back a fair bit, making 17 appearances on the right of defence.
In our view, this commendable professionalism will only make Ancelotti and Bielsa even more interested in his services.
