Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster Owen Otasowie has rejected a new contract with the club.

According to the Telegraph, the 20-year-old midfielder has turned down fresh terms with the Molineux club.

R.S.C. Anderlecht and VfL Wolfsburg are keen on the USMNT star, who could leave Wolves for just £6m.

Otasowie was part of the first team last season and made six appearances in total under Nuno Espirito Santo.

However, a move to Belgium or Germany would likely see the youngster play regular first-team football. Numerous young players in the Premier League have taken their talents abroad with consistent playing time in mind.

The New York City-born midfielder is highly rated at Wolves since emerging from the academy. Indeed, Conor Coady once told the club’s official YouTube channel that Otasowie is a ‘fantastic’ talent.

With the youngster unlikely to break into the first-team under new manager Bruno Lage, a move from Wolves could be an ideal move for Otasowie.

Indeed, at just 20, Otasowie is at the stage of his career where playing regular first-team football is paramount.

Although the futures of Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho are questionable heading into the new season, it will take some effort for Otasowie to assert himself in the starting XI next campaign.
