Well, Tottenham Hotspur won’t be signing Milan Skriniar this summer either.
In July, it was reported by Calciomercato that Spurs were interested in signing the Inter Milan defender yet again.
And with Chelsea reportedly willing to pay £68 million for him, well suffice to say Tottenham would’ve had to pay a premium to bring him to North London.
This is somebody who’s been linked with a transfer to Tottenham virtually every transfer window since 2019.
However, it won’t be happening this time, either.
That’s because Di Marzio reported from Italy on Friday that Inter have taken the 27-year-old off the market.
More recently, Skriniar had been linked with a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain but it would appear that won’t be happening either.
A central defender remains on Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici’s wishlist this summer, despite already signing Clement Lenglet on loan from Barcelona.
The Lilywhites have already enjoyed a wonderful transfer window but, as their performance against Chelsea illustrated last week, additional strength in defence wouldn’t go amiss.
However, unfortunately for Conte – who has experience with coaching the player at San Siro – the Italian manager is going to have to focus on alternative targets, if Di Marzio is accurate in saying that the Nerazzurri are no longer considering a sale.
