According to Foot Mercato, West Ham United central defender Issa Diop is open to joining Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho wants to sign the 23-year-old centre-back this summer and has made him his top target, according to the report.

The Frenchman himself is reportedly ready to make the switch to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and would agree to a move.

Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?

With Jan Vertonghen out of contract at Tottenham this summer, the North London outfit could do with a new central defender.

Diop is a very good defender who would make Spurs better, not just for now, but in the long run as well.

The Frenchman – who earns £67,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – is only 23 years of age, and he can only improve and develop in the coming years.

However, it remains to be seen if West Ham would be willing to sell Diop amid the economic uncertainty caused by the global health crisis, and how much the Hammers would demand for him.
