According to The Sun, West Ham and Newcastle target Darwin Nunez would be open to joining Arsenal or Tottenham this summer.

What’s the story?

Well, the Benfica marksman has been on fire this season, leading to interest from a number of Premier League sides.

90min believe West Ham failed with a January bid for Nunez, whereas the Express claimed Newcastle, Arsenal, Tottenham and the Hammers all had scouts in attendance as the Uruguayan scored against Liverpool last week.

Manchester United and Manchester City are also interested in the 22-year-old.

Now, however, The Sun have revealed that the South American is not interested in a move to either Manchester-based club, which comes as a boost to the Hammers, Magpies, Gunners and Spurs.

Nunez is believed to view Manchester City as the wrong fit for his playing style, while a move to Old Trafford is viewed as a risk due to their current situation.

So far this season, the Artigas-born striker – who is valued at £65m – has remarkably scored 31 goals in 36 appearances.

Darwin Nunez should choose Arsenal over Tottenham, West Ham or Newcastle

In our view, Arsenal is the best fit for Nunez.

With the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe alongside him in attack, the Uruguayan would have plenty of creative sources to feed off.

Additionally, they are all of similar ages, so they should be able to gel quickly and also blossom together under Mikel Arteta.

Furthermore, the Gunners actually won’t have a senior striker next season as things stand, so Nunez is guaranteed to start.

Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah become free agents in June, which leaves 20-year-old Folarin Balogun as Arteta’s only striker.

The Sun mention that Nunez is actually keen to move to a club where he is guaranteed to play, so in that respect, the Emirates Stadium seems a likely destination for this rising sensation.
