Wolverhampton Wanderers are closing in on the signing of another Jorge Mendes client – £60,000-a-week Napoli defender Faouzi Ghoulam – according to AreaNapoli.
Real Madrid have already flogged one of the most exciting young full-backs in world football this summer and, if reports are to be believed, the exceptional Sergio Reguilon could join Inter Milan newbie Achraf Hakimi in Serie A at some point this summer.
Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli have set their sights on a new left-sided defender.
And Reguilon, an express train of a footballer who ran Manchester United ragged in the Europa League semi-finals, could move to the Stadio San Paolo when his loan spell at Sevilla comes to an end.
Ghoulam only made three Serie A starts in 2019/20.
And if Reguilon arrives to provide competition for Mario Rui at left-back, the experienced Algeria international will find game time even harder to come by.
Hence why he could be about to swap powder blue for old gold.
According to AreaNapoli, Ghoulam is keen on the idea of re-building his reputation in the most high-profile league in English football with a move to Wolves appealing to a man represented by none other than Mendes himself.

Thanks to his excellent relationship with Fosun International, Wolves’ Chinese owners, the Portuguese super-agent has already brought Joao Moutinho, Rui Patricio, Daniel Podence and more to Molineux.
Ghoulam, who earns £60,000-a-week at Napoli, would hardly be guaranteed a starting place at Molineux either but, with Jonny Otto set for months on the sidelines, he would bring some depth to the left-back spot.
