One of Leeds United’s rumoured summer targets wants to hold ‘showdown talks’ with his club, according to The Sun.
ESPN reported last week that Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero is an option for Leeds and Everton this window.
And The Sun now claims that Romero’s representatives will sit down with Red Devils chiefs and discuss his future at the club.
The fates of David de Gea, to whom the Argentine has played back-up since his 2015 move to Old Trafford, and Dean Henderson could have a significant bearing on that of Romero.
De Gea’s recent form has been widely criticised, while Henderson is returning to his parent club after another outstanding loan spell at Sheffield United.

And it is suggested that Romero would rather leave than drop to third choice behind the younger pair.
Romero has interest from clubs in Argentina, North America and Europe, according to The Sun, which fails to mention either Leeds or Everton specifically.
And the newspaper adds that Manchester United will demand £5 million to part with Romero, who has less than a year remaining on his alleged £60,000-a-week contract.

The 33-year-old should be well-known to Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa, having played 96 times for Argentina – the country from which Bielsa also hails.
Leeds recently tied Illan Meslier to a permanent contract and also count the experienced – yet disgraced – Kiko Casilla among their goalkeeping options.
