Celta Vigo’s sporting director has held talks with Cenk Tosun, but the Everton man is not keen on a move to the La Liga outfit, as reported by AS.

You would imagine that the Turkish international’s stance will come as a crushing blow to Celta.

After all, the 2017 Europa League semi-finalists are desperate to sign a striker before Monday’s deadline and have even allowed Okay Yokuslu to join West Brom in order to raise funds for a new face.

But Celta have little choice but to look elsewhere for a man capable of easing the goal-scoring burden on the talismanic Iago Aspas. Because Tosun is not exactly jumping at the chance to swap Goodison Park for Galicia.

AS claim that Felipe Minambres, the club’s highly-regarded sporting director, contacted Tosun to discuss a potential move to the Balaidos.

But Celta Vigo are well down the Turk’s personal pecking order.

Everton’s £27 million bench-warmer has also received an offer from mid-table Bundesliga outfit Augsburg. While a return to Besiktas – where he played the best football of his career and won two Super Lig titles – is an opportunity that Tosun would struggle to turn down.

Speaking to Fanatik last week, the 29-year-old’s agent admitted that negotations were underway regarding a move to West Bromwich Albion, with Sam Allardyce keen to reunite with a £60,000-a-week forward he brought to Everton three years ago.

But with the Baggies signing Mbaye Diagne from Galatasaray instead, we are no closer to finding out where Tosun will end up before February 2nd.
