According to Sabah, Cenk Tosun now wants to leave Everton, despite the arrival of Frank Lampard at Goodison Park.

What’s the story?

Well, everyone tends to get a fresh start when a new manager comes in, although that doesn’t seem to be enough for Tosun to stay at Everton.

Sabah‘s report – which was interestingly released after Lampard’s appointment – claims that the £60,000-a-week man wants to move to another club in Europe.

Additionally, the 30-year-old also wants to be paid €1m (£832,000) to leave, with a portion of his contract bought out by the Toffees.

In our view, we’re not sure why Everton would agree to that.

Tosun is far from a key player at Goodison Park. He’s played just six minutes of Premier League football this season, as well as three minutes in the FA Cup.

It has been a turbulent time for the striker on Merseyside since Sam Allardyce paid £27m to sign him from Besiktas in 2018.

In 60 appearances for the Toffees, Tosun has only scored 11 goals.

Everton should keep Cenk Tosun

It sounds strange to say, but Everton should keep the 45-cap Turkey international until the end of the season.

Aside from him, Lampard only has Salomon Rondon to deputise for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has struggled with injury problems this season.

Richarlison can also play there, although he is used more frequently on the flanks.

In that respect, Tosun should be kept just in case of an emergency.

Rondon has failed to make an impact, so if Calvert-Lewin gets injured again, it would at least be nice to have a choice between Tosun and the Venezuelan.
