Report: £5m Leeds target knows he has to leave, manager will let him go too

Reported Leeds United target Alex Moreno knows he may have to leave La Liga outfit Real Betis in the summer transfer window, as reported by Estadio Deportivo.

Whenever a player enlists the services of super-agent Pini Zahavi that usually means one thing and one thing only – he’s preparing his client for a move.

And, having presided over some of the biggest and most expensive transfers in modern history, Zahavi’s next task will be to find a way out of the Estadio Benito Villamarin for a Catalan speed-machine who has his heart set on a fresh start after losing his place in the Real Betis XI.

Can Moreno solve Leeds’ left-back headache?

According to TEAMtalk in April, Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds have identified Moreno as a potential solution to their left-back problems.

Attack-minded and aggressive, the former Rayo Vallecano man certainly wouldn’t look out of place at Elland Road.

And reports coming out of Andalusia certainly suggest Moreno’s 47th La Liga appearance in Betis colours may also have been his last.

Real Betis can offer European football next season

However, the 27-year-old knows, if he wants to play regular first-team football in 2021/22, he’ll have to leave a club that has qualified for the Europa League next season.

ABC de Sevilla backs claims Moreno wants to leave adding that, while Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini is a fan of Moreno, he has already decided former Barcelona youngster Juan Miranda will be his first-choice left-back in the future.

Moreno is understood to be available for a bargain £5 million and, when asked about his future recently, the Spaniard didn’t hold back…
