Marko Grujic will be back at Liverpool before the month is out, it’s been confirmed [Goal.com].
The Serbian midfielder has enjoyed an excellent two-year loan spell in Germany with Hertha Berlin, but the club’s sporting director announced earlier this week that Grujic is heading back to Merseyside.
But it might not be for long.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Grujic, who was Jurgen Klopp’s first signing as Liverpool manager in January of 2016, wants a move to Serie A.
The likes of Lazio and AC Milan have been linked with the 24-year-old – who set the Reds back £5 million – but the report from Italy adds that the latter aren’t all that keen on him.
One thing for sure is that the player himself definitely has to leave Anfield.
He’ll have wanted to be a success under Klopp, and his excellent form in the Bundesliga has proven that he is indeed a good player, but good doesn’t cut it at arguably the best squad in Europe.
And to be honest, the German manager has superior midfielders to Grujic, like Gini Wijnaldum, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, even if all four don’t play in the exact same role.
