Liverpool are competing with Real Madrid for the signing of Lucas Ocampos, a report in El Intransigente suggests.
Ocampos is apparently on Liverpool’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window, with Madrid and Borussia Dortmund also keen.
The good news for Liverpool is that Ocampos seems keen on the move to Anfield.
The Argentine winger, who has a £56 million release clause, is hoping that the Reds do make a bid for him and Sevilla would also be keen to get a deal done for a significant fee.
The Spanish side are said to be hopeful that Liverpool make an offer, as they would like to raise funds and Ocampos is one of their most valuable assets.
The 26-year-old does look to be a potentially exciting addition, as his hard-working style would make him an ideal fit for Liverpool.
However, Liverpool surely need a goalscorer more than another winger at this stage.

Ocampos is more comfortable out wide rather than through the middle, which could stand against him, despite his apparent hopes of a move to Anfield.
Ocampos has scored four goals and claimed four assists for Sevilla in 21 La Liga games this season.
